Functional fitness classes in WaukeeCollective
Fitness
Our core functional fitness class in Waukee: coached group workouts that build strength and cardio fitness together, in a small gym where nobody is watching you and every movement scales to what you can do today.
So what do you do at Redline?
We work to get stronger, healthier and fitter by progressively overloading our bodies.
Say what?
We take all those day-to-day moves you already do without thinking about them — squats, lunges, burpees, deadlifts, pushes and pulls — and build workouts from them to improve your strength and cardio fitness.
But how?
Body weight, dumbbells, barbells, sandbags, kettlebells and wall balls.
Is there a lot of cardio?
We run, row, bike and ski, and do body-weight work like box jumps and burpees. But more often than not these are mixed in with strength moves. So yes, there is cardio — just not hours of endless running. Unless you join the run club.
How long do the workouts last?
It varies every day. On strength-focused days you work a specific lift — a bench press, say — and the workout after it is another two or three movements lasting 10 to 20 minutes. On non-strength days workouts run longer, 25 to 35 minutes, and may include accessory work like core, mobility or stretching. Every class starts with mobility and is finished within the hour.
OK, but I'm new to this and a bit nervous
Please don't be. Everyone started somewhere. We're a small gym family and we work together to support each other. This gym is a space for anyone, at any age, and our coaches are always there and ready to help.

You'll feel
right at home.
If you've trained at a functional fitness gym, Collective Fitness will feel familiar from the first warm-up.
What's a WOD?
The workout of the day. Every Collective Fitness class has one, coached from warm-up to cool-down and scaled for every person in the room.
Visiting Waukee? Drop in.
Traveling and need a workout? A drop-in class is $30, or $155 for a 10-class punch card. Message us so a coach knows you're coming. There's a shower and two private bathrooms if you need to clean up after class.
And the part that matters most: a room full of people who cheer the last person home. Our coaches have completed multiple official HYROX events across the United States and competed in HYROX simulation events, and some have also taken on The Circus, the Granite Games and Redline Rampage. If you just want to be fitter than you were last month, you're just as welcome.
